Why you need to make a Disney Cruise your next Vacation! M -I- C…Sea Ya Real Soon…. Y? Because you deserve fun and relaxation! If you’ve been considered a Disney Cruise, now’s the time! It’s hands down one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. Where else can you be immersed with pools, movies, characters, fantastic food, and spend quality time with those you love? It’s never too early to start your cruise countdown. The earlier you book, the better the pricing as Disney operates on a supply and demand type system when it comes to stateroom pricing. The earlier you book, the more staterooms available, hence the cheaper pricing. Also, the further out you book, the more time you have to make payments along the way. We flew in a day prior so as not to miss our port arrival time and to maximize the fun to be had from the minute we boarded the Disney Fantasy. The check-in was seamless, pictures with Captain Mickey were taken, and we headed straight to the AquaDuck for water slide fun. We mustered as required in case of emergency and then headed to the pool deck for the Sail Away Party! We sipped our frozen concoctions and set sail towards the Eastern Caribbean for seven nights of magic and fun in the sun. There are many things that make a Disney Cruise magical. I’ll break it down for you Mickey- Style. M- Memories. I’m sure if you ask any of the 9 of us we’d all have a different memory that stands out. I have two. I loved spending the afternoon at the Rainforest at Senses Spa with my mom and sister. I also loved watching my son enjoy every aspect of the ship and hearing him say on multiple occasions how amazing everything was. Hands down for my son, Joseph, was riding the AquaDuck 14 times and getting the Infinity Gauntlet cup while watching Avengers—just one of the many new releases you can watch while cruising on the high seas. I-Incredible food. Wow! Nothing short of amazing. On a Disney Cruise you rotate through three themed restaurants with a different over the top menu each night. Your servers follow you from venue to venue and ours were beyond fabulous- from having the kid’s drinks ready when we arrived, doing magic tricks for them, to cutting their food, they made dinner fun and stress-free. The desserts were top notch and Mickey bars were available for any one not feeling adventurous. C-Characters. They are everywhere! If you ever wanted to meet your favorite character this is the place to do it. Decked out in formal wear, pirate gear, they eagerly meeted and greeted you throughout the voyage. K-Kids activity galore! Cooking, crafts, video game challenges, just to name a few. From The Oceaneer’s Club and Lab to the Small World Nursery, entertainment abounds while you get to sneak away and enjoy adult time. Disney caters as much to adults as it does to kids. Whether it’s a bottle of pink champagne on ice in one of the adult only pools, relaxing with a spa treatment, or indulging at an adult only dinner at Palo or Remy, you can enjoy the best of both worlds on a Disney Cruise. E-Exciting Ports. Taking time to explore new places is fabulous. We made stops in St Thomas, St. Marteen, and Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay. Whether you reserve one of the many port adventures (like zip lining, deep sea fishing, renting a jet ski), grab a taxi to beautiful Magens Bay, or run off the delicious food you ate at the Castaway Cay 5K, there is something fun for everyone. I knew when I moved back to Virginia, I would once again be reunited with one of my true loves, wineries. Let’s be honest friends, my love of wine is right up there alongside my love of Disney. My first time at Stone Tower Winery and I knew that I needed to pair the two. Finally, I’m sitting here enjoying a glass of wine and prepping my fingers to blog about why you all need to literally FALL for Disney. At last, two worlds have magically collided. So sit back, grab a glass of wine (or your favorite beverage) and read on. Disney’s a magical place any time of year, but cooler temperatures, special events, and savings, are an even better reason to head to your favorite Disney Destination this fall. I don’t know about you, but I’ve done Disney in the heat and humidity of summer. I was there over the Fourth this year, and I forgot what it was like to be honest. Trust me, I’ll do Disney anytime, and it’s the time frame that I had to work with this go around. But if you have the flexibility, I highly suggest traveling later in the year. The temperatures are fabulous. I love to swim by day and cuddle up and watch fireworks by night. I can’t complain when my lunch is beef stew from a Mickey bread bowl and I stay warm by the fire as I’m making S’mores at Chip N Dale’s Campfire Sing Along. And although I will confess that a rainy day at Disney beats a sunny day at home any time, storms are less frequent in the fall, making life a little less, well, soggy. What will you be for Halloween? You might need to think about that if you decide to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. There are all Treats and no Tricks, from special character interactions, fireworks, parades and candy galore. Tickets allow you to get into the Magic Kingdom or Disneyland beginning at 4. I love to sleep in on party day, relax by the pool, or do some shopping at Disney Springs or Downtown Disney depending on if I’m on East Coast or West Coast time. A nap is a must, especially if traveling with little ones. This allows for a full evening of dance parties, riding rides and a sugar high you’re only allowed to be on at Disney since I go by the old adage that calories don’t count at Disney. Decorations, Ride Overlays, and characters, Oh My! … Overlays on rides and characters you don’t normally see out and about are amazing in the fall! Hands down my favorite is The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. And who doesn’t love a selfie with Jack and Sally? Fall is an entirely different dynamic and even if you frequent Disney other times of the year, it’s a totally different experience. Treats are magically decorated, as are your surroundings. And if you plan your timing correctly, you can celebrate Thanksgiving dinner with your favorite characters one night and have a magical family photo for this year’s Christmas card, the next! Let’s talk savings! First and foremost, here’s a deal you don’t often see. Disney Cruise Line is offering 20% off veranda staterooms on Disney Magic, departing September 27, October 2, 6, and 21, 2017 from New York. Be treated with Halloween fun on the High Seas and a savings that won’t have you scared! As always when you book with me, I offer you not only tips but on board credit as well. Sea legs not up to par? How about free dining? I rarely do Disney without the dining plan. To me, it’s not only a savings, but also the fact that knowing ahead of time what my vacation is going to cost, is advantageous. There are still packages available, so what are you waiting for? Get a free quote today and your dining is on Disney! Ever wanted to say Aloha to Hawaii? Now’s your chance to relax on the lazy river, take up surfing, and watch the sun set from dinner with 30% of your 5 night or more stay this fall at Aulani. It’s where relaxing meets culture, meets Disney. And their Spa is hands down the best that I’ve been to. If you’ve made it this far in the blog, I'll throw in $25 towards your next spa treatment when you book your Aulani vacation with me. Looking for a more cultural experience? Want to see the World? Did you know that Adventures By Disney can take you from the Great Wall of China to Iceland and everywhere in between? You’re paired with local experts who show you the local surroundings and take care of your every need while immersed in the culture of the location you choose to explore. You can currently save up to $500 per person depending on your Adventures By Disney Destination. Lastly, it wouldn’t be right for me to be blogging from a winery and not mention Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. If you like either of the two, this place is for you. From interactive experiences with your favorite chef, Eat to the Beat Concert Series featuring your favorite artists, to the Wine and Dine Half Marathon (more to come in a future blog regarding Run Disney). This event runs August 31- November 13, 2017 and is just another perfect reason to FALL for Disney. I know there are more pages to write on this topic but my glass is empty and I need a refill. I’d love to hear the reasons you’ve fallen for Disney. And if you haven’t already, let me plan your trip. I guarantee you’ll see Disney as a place you’ll fall in love with over and over regardless of the time of year you choose to visit.
